Fashion Show.

Nigerian fashion show had a memorable turn out penultimate week at Aquatic Hall, Water Parks, Ikeja,Lagos. The event had lots of celebrities and fashion designers showcasing their creativity on the run way. Models were not left out in the celebration of beauty as they appeared in lucid and attractive styles onstage to dazzle the crowd.
Artquake, the duo of Ice-k and Adex stormed the stage with their current hit track, Bus-Stop. Their fans went crazy in dancing to the rhythm of their songs.
Their performances as well witnessed Gyration another fantastic track from their new album, Artwork. Another sonorous voice artiste, Soul-E didn’t let the crowd feel any dull moment. He mounted the stage along side his crew. When he introduced himself as Soul-E, the crowd stood still on the stand and started dancing till he suddenly left the stage.
Azeezat, on the other side didn’t leave the stone unturned as she did what she knows best. She performed some fantastic tracks from her new album. While addressing the press, the organizers of the event stated that the event is used in branding the Nigerian image in the fashion contest of perception in order to show case the different type of designs done with our local fabrics in Nigeria and African.
Designers like, Lawrettas Vendrika Fashion Gallery, Anjoreen Couture, Taorad Couture, Mutyz Mode, Ghanaian best designer, 2005/2006and Modella just to mention few were all at their best. They displayed the latest designs in vogue, as star track witnessed.
Speaking with some of the designers in attendance at the event, “Our design collections were all African mix with European but our objective is to showcase the Nigerian and African Fabrics in various designs and strictly African fashion with the use of our local standard colors, materials not necessarily only Nigerian fabrics but fabrics from different African countries”, said: Estito Fashion and Anjoreen Couture. “This idea is to sell confidence to people in being proud of our native outfits in the fashion world, also build the culture of displaying our fabrics officially to dictate vogue in the world of fashion and showing the standard and quality of our fabrics. This is a way of branding the country, Nigeria”
 

MTV/MTN VJ Search: Cyinthia Okpala Emerges Lagos

 Miss Cyinthia Okpala a 21 year old undergraduate, an Ebonyi State origin who resides in Lagos has won MTV/MTN VJ search. She emerged winner after she was instructed by the anchor - Isis - with other four finalists to ask Olu Maintain any question of their choice. Immediately, she was announced the winner, she burst into tears and whole crowd shower encomium her for her performance while interrogating the Yahoozee crooner. “I’m very happy. I never thought I would win at all. I give all the glory to God. The competition has been very exciting. I will try my simple best to lift up to the standard my fans that voted for me expect of me. I must in all give thanks to the telecommunications leading brand, MTN for giving great opportunity to showcase my talents here. I will not let them down”, she said this while addressing the press. She will however becomes the first ever brand ambassador of the Nigerian nation, presenting a pan Nigerian musical entertainment programme on the premium satellite global cable channel MTV Networks if she eventually. emerges the overall winner after meeting with the other regional winners in Abuja,Jos and Benin. Clips of their individual performances will be flighted on some select local free to air and pay cable Tv channels in Nigeria. This is to enable Nigerians most especially MTN Xtracool subscribers participate in the voting process for the last man standing who will win the ultimate prize of one year well paid contract with MTV Base in South Africa, he will enjoy free training programme abroad, and he will host the first ever pan Nigerian musical show on MTV Networks, NAIJA HITS for three months. The event was nevertheless graced by Nigerian celebrity hosts such as STV’s Isis, D J Midas, DJ Humility. Among judges were Nigeria’s current musical rave of the moment Olu Maintain,Marvelous Benji and others.
 

Pramfest Postponed

 Organizers of Proclaim Advertisng Models Festival,
PRAMfest, have announced a shift in the date of the
grand event. “The reason for this shift of date,"
explains Sola Olabanji, executive coordinator,
PRAMfest, "is to allow for wide ranging participation
of its intended primary audience -- models, modeling
agencies, advertising agencies, advertisers,
photographers, and make-up artistes, and to motivate
keener interest of would-be models -- it's secondary
audience." Pramfest is designed as a day-long
experience, which begins with a workshop where
modelling pros will deliver papers and give proficient
tips and grooming to all participants on how to be an
exceptional advert model, followed by an open
exhibition of the works of various celebrated
photographers, and products ad services that support
the advertising and modeling sector. A Red Carpet
Awards Dinner where various categories of awards will
be given to deserving models wraps up the festival.
For freshness and uniqueness, PRAMfest was inspired to
reward and promote outstanding skills of advertising
models in Nigeria. It is an initiative M2 Magazine,
Soundcity, Planet One, X-pression, Kia Motors, Eko FM,
Digiprints and Galaxy TV are all partnering as a
contribution towards the progress of the modeling
industry in Nigeria." A new date would be announced
soon," Sola assured.

Jimmy Jatt, Desmond Elliot and Katung Emerge Brand

 The public suspense trailing a media campaign aimed at
transforming the disc jockeying profession in Nigeria
takes another dimension this week with the unveiling
of three celebrities as the “Real Guys.”
From Monday August 27, popular DJ, Jimmy Jatt, amiable
actor, Desmond Elliot and Big Brother Nigeria winner,
Katung will storm bars and night clubs in Lagos as
Brand Icons spreading the message of love and music.
The in-bar raid by the icons, according to reliable
information, will herald a series of activities on the
bill of a famous lager brand in Nigeria, which began
on Monday August 13 on Cool FM and Rhythm with
invitations to disc jockeys to submit entries for a
DJs Battle.
At the close of entries on August 23, a panel of
judges will screen every entry and select the best 10.
This will subsequently be reduced to three after
another duel, while the successful trio will do a
battle of ‘scratching’ in Lagos at an event, which the
sponsors say will be a voyage in musical odyssey. The
same process will be replicated in the Benin and Abuja
subsequently.
During the in-bar raids Jatt, Elliot and Katung are
expected to hand out free tickets to guests that will
allow them entry to the venue of the grand party
courtesy of the brand.
For the adventurous and socialites, there will be lots
of excitement and music as deejays will steer the
wheel of steel to ecstasy with the intense rotation of
music of 2-Face, P-Square, Weird MC and Faze, among
others, in serene and soothing surroundings.
The show is expected to raise the bar in brand-driven
entertainment by providing a veritable platform to
lift disc jockeying in the country. It will also give
due recognition to deserving players.
Early returns indicate an impressive response by DJs
with several entries already submitted. This fits into
the brand’s quest to reinvigorate Nigeria’s disc
jockeying field by providing the Men of Steel
opportunities to display their dexterity on the
wheels.
 

Events Aloud &Vittocollioni Kunceptz Shop For

 Metamorphosis to the readers of this piece might sound
like a science term but appearing on Star track, it is
an event coming up in Nigeria very soon marketing by
Events Aloud and Vittocollioni Kunceptz respectively.
As we learnt, it is a youth developmental concert
which aimed to feature motivational speakers and self
coaches Dayo Olomu, Pastor Sam Adeyemi, Professor Pat
Utomi and others.
The organizers have started shopping for sponsors in
order to drive the event. Speaking with organizers
“The event is a classic one that positions the youths
in the Nigeria at large. The guests speakers will
expose them to various ways of achieving goals and
compete favourably well with foreign counterparts; the
main idea is to produce success and motivates a
positive attitude towards youths entrepreneurship
through renowned, seasonal, youth mentors and
international motivational speakers”.
Artistes billed to perform at the show are 2 Face,
P-Square and host of others.
